Empowering Facts is an independent news and commentary publication covering American politics, policy, and public accountability.

We started on Facebook, where the Empowering Facts page has grown to a community of more than 135,000 readers who wanted political coverage that names names and cites numbers. This website is the long-form home for that work: the full reporting behind the posts, with the context that does not fit in a social feed.

What we cover

Immigration and border policy. Federal spending and the economy. Courts, indictments, and the Justice Department. Foreign policy and the military. Elections and voting law. Free speech and media accountability. And the records of the specific officials making those decisions.

How we work

Every article names the people involved, cites the dollar figures and dates, and states the position it is taking rather than hiding behind vague attribution. We publish commentary, and we label it as commentary. We do not publish anonymous accusations, invented quotes, or claims we cannot source.
